The Master’s offers a wide variety of class types to ensure we have a class perfect for you. Information on our classes is listed below. Gymnastics
The Master's gymnastics classes are designed to motivate and challenge school-age children to develop specific skills. Our emphasis in the educational gymnastics program is to promote discipline, self-confidence, strength, agility, and coordination in a wholesome atmosphere while introducing the sport of gymnastics. Our lessons focus on gymnastics skills coupled with flexibility, strength, confidence, coordination, safety, concentration, listening, teamwork, social skills, balance, rhythm, spatial awareness and themed activities. We offer afternoon and evening classes and all our classes have an 8 – 1 student to teacher ratio. For information on our competitive teams and training programs please see Competitive Gymnastics.
Boys Classes
Gymnasts participate in activities combining education and fun on all six men's Olympic events (floor exercise, pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel bar, and high bar) as well as trampoline. These classes are designed to promote strength, coordination and agility, helping your child achieve a sense of accomplishment.
Boys Level 1
is a one-hour class in our school-age educational gymnastics program. Gymnasts are introduced to beginning boys gymnastics skills incorporated with plenty of fun. Teamwork, strength, and social skills are stressed and creative lessons are included to make the educational part of the class more appealing to your son.Girls Classes
These classes are designed to promote strength, coordination, and agility through positive reinforcement and active coaching. Gymnasts participate in themed activities combining education and fun on all four women's Olympic events (vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise) as well as trampoline. Your child will achieve a sense of accomplishment as her talents improve and her skill level progresses.
Beginner Girls
is a one-hour class in our school-age gymnastics education program. Gymnasts are introduced to beginning gymnastics skills incorporated with an ample amount of fun. Teamwork and social skills are stressed and themed activities are included to make the educational lessons more appealing to the children. The physical and emotional skills your child acquires in this program will aid her in her development of discipline.Advanced Beginner Girls
is also a one-hour class. This class builds on the skills acquired in the beginner girls program and also introduces new, more challenging skills. Attention is given to progression and sharpening of skills and development of self-confidence, and themed activities are combined to promote education as well as fun.Intermediate Girls
is a one-and-a-half hour class. Lessons build on the skills learned in beginner and advanced beginner classes and attention is given to perfecting these skills while new, more difficult skills are learned.Advanced Intermediate Girls
is a one-and-a-half hour class that provides the most advanced skill instruction in our educational girls program. Gymnasts work a higher level of skills while continuing to focus on body position and strength.Preschool
The Master’s Gymcubs program is our popular pre-school movement program designed to develop a young child’s physical awareness and coordination. Lessons are held in our Gymcubs area with specialized pre-school sized equipment and our exciting Play Zone. Beginning basic gymnastics skills are introduced coupled with imagination and fun! Our lessons focus on beginning basic gymnastics skills combined with flexibility, strength, confidence, coordination, safety, concentration, listening, teamwork, social skills, balance, rhythm, counting, shapes & letters, hand-eye coordination, sequential thinking, taking turns, and spatial awareness. We offer morning and evening classes and all our classes have a 6 – 1 student to teacher ratio.
LionCubs (18 months to 3 years)
This parent/child class starts these little LionCubs into gymnastics with the comfort of their best friend, Mom or Dad. This class is intended to make it easier for these toddlers to learn, and to eventually attend class on their own. The parent-child relationship is strengthened with each new activity and new friendship during this 45-minute class.TumbleCubs (3 years)
Our TumbleCubs class is a 45-minute class that is designed to develop the young child's physical awareness and coordination without the help of Mom or Dad in class. Lots of fun and promoting a healthy self-image are priorities for our TumbleCubs. Through the various TumbleCubs activities, children develop skills that will aid them as they move into our older pre-school class.SuperCubs (4 & 5 years)
Our SuperCubs class is a 45-minute class that is designed to teach basic gymnastics skills through circuits on our specialized pre-school equipment. In a relaxed atmosphere, SuperCubs learn to take instruction, work with teammates, and listen as concentration and attention spans are increased.Competitive Gymnastics
The Master’s also offers a competitive venue for children who would like to continue in a more concentrated atmosphere. The competitive venue is offered in several areas of our program. We offer a girls and boys competition team for gymnastics as well as All Star Cheerleader squads for tumbling and cheerleading.
Pre-Team Program
The Master's has a pre-team program for the boys and girls competition team. The Future Stars Class for boys and the Junior Team classes for girls are by invitation only. Please contact the office for additional information.Girls Competition Team
is an invitation only class that begins with our Junior Team program. The Junior Team Program is divided into three training levels (broken up by age) that are designed to move our potential team members at a little faster pace than the educational program. The girls’ competition team practices several days a week for longer hours in order to prepare the girls to compete throughout the state against other teams around Tennessee and boarding states.Boys Competition Team
is also an invitation only class that is designed to move our potential male team members at a little faster pace than in the educational program. The boys competition team practices several days a week for longer hours in order to prepare the boys to compete throughout the state against other teams around Tennessee and the bordering states.Tumbling & Cheerleading
The Master's currently offers four levels of tumbling classes, cheer technique classes, and school squad classes. We offer tumbling classes for students who just want to learn how to tumble and to students who are preparing for cheerleading. Cheer technique classes for those interested in learning and perfecting motions, cheers including, sidelines, jumps, and dances. School squad classes to improve the squad as a whole. Tumbling Classes
Our one-hour tumbling classes are open to children 5 and up. Tumble One classes focus on cartwheels, round-offs, back handsprings and other beginning tumbling skills. Tumble Two classes are for those who have mastered the beginning skills and can continue to work on round-offs and back handsprings focusing more on form and body positioning. Tumble Three classes focus on connecting skills such as round-off back handsprings and series of back handsprings. Tumble Four classes are for the more experienced tumbler and class time focuses on back tucks, layouts, twists and front tumbling.
Cheer Technique Classes
These seasonal one hour classes for first to fifth graders are designed to introduce cheerleading motions, jumps, cheers, and dances to those interested in learning or perfecting these aspects of cheerleading. These classes are available during the first part of the year. Please contact the office for class dates.
School Squad Classes
The Master's offers classes for your child's middle or high school squad. The squad class is an hour and a half long and is dedicated specifically to the squad's needs. The focus of each class is determined by both The Master's instructors and the squad sponsor. Class time can be used to work on cheers, sidelines, dances, and tumbling for games and pep rallies, or competition routines if the squad competes.
All Star Cheerleading
The Master's Cheerleading Association (MCA) is our All-Star Cheer Program designed to prepare students for their school squads. The MCA squad is designed to teach the squad members as well as prepare them for competition. The competition squad members will train building, tumbling, cheers, motions and dance. Currently ages range from 4th grade to 9th grade. The MCA squad forms each Spring and additional information can be obtained by contacting our office. See MCA page. There is potential to have Pee Wee (1st-3rd grade), Youth (4th-6th grade), and Junior (7th-9th grade) squads if interest allows. In the spring of each year we hold try-outs for each squad and the students meet throughout the summer and begin their season in the fall competing from September through January.
